"they both win prizes" -- is that is how we are to judge the merit of our poetries?

Anne Simpson and Sonnet L'Abbe have many things in common: they are both included in Open Field: 30 Contemporary Canadian Poets, they are both published by McLelland & Stewart, they both take risks (extremely questionable assertion!), and they both win prizes. The similarities don't stop there. No, they're both useful tools in the poetics of boring beige and they are the same person. We find it's a lot easier if poetry is all written by one person who can be easily controlled with fake fame and smallpotato grants. Enjoy bow wow.
